<p>&nbsp;The e-ID system is designed to provide citizens with biometric identification cards, which will serve as a secure and verifiable means of identification. The government has emphasized that the rollout of these biometric e-ID cards will commence this year and will eventually become mandatory for all citizens.&nbsp;</p>
